The I Am’s of God: God our Shield and Rewarder
Many of us know the Statements of Jesus, where He states "I Am." God also has many "I Am's". Tonight let's look at the promise that He is our shield and our rewarder.
What On Earth Are You Doing For Heaven’s Sake?
I saw a t-shirt that really ministered to me. It said, "Heaven is my home, I'm here on a Recruiting Trip." I had to ask myself the question, "How is my recruiting going along?" What am I doing? What are you doing? What are earth are you doing for heaven's sake?
It’s Not About Us
Many amazing things happened at Pentecost, but one of the major changes was the attitudes of the disciples. Prior to Pentecost it was all about them. After Pentecost it was all about Him. They were saved, restored and were being made mature.
While He Was Grieving
The Bible is full of Jesus performing miracles. Sometimes we fail to notice that many of those were done when Jesus was in the middle of something else. Even when he was mourning the loss of a friend or when he was interrupted. Let's look at one of those times.
Knowing God
God knows everything about us. The question today is how well do we know God? Do you know Him well enough to fear Him, serve Him, and trust Him? Let's know Him well enough to totally surrender to Him.
Working With God, Not Working For God
Bill Bright and James Davis encourages us to work with God not for God. We often forget that God invites us to work with Him. We can do very little working for God but working with God we can accomplish so much more.
Heeding the Warning
Ecclesiastes 4:13 is a powerful verse. It tells us that a poor youth that listens to advice and warnings is wiser than a old but foolish king. Let's read the instructions. Let's heed the warnings. Let's take Godly advice.
Thank God for the Overflow, Part 2
Last week we began a two part message: Thank God for the Overflow. Today we finish that message. We must realize that we can never produce what is not in us. James says a good well can not give bad water and the opposite is also true. The amazing thing is that we can be quite productive by being so full of God's fruits that everyone around us can be ministered too--all from the overflow.
Thank God for the Overflow, Part 1
While looking at the bird feeders in my yard, I was amazed at all the sunflowers that had sprung up. They all came from the overflow. We know that Jesus speaks of himself as a kernel of wheat, a seed, that had to be planted in order for salvation to be possible. Before you can have a Pentecost you must have a Passover. Jesus was our Passover Lamb. He was willing to be planted to die so we could come to life.
Understanding Praise: 7 Hebrew Words for Praise, Part 2
Without understanding and knowledge we perish or we can be destroyed. Knowing the meaning and purpose of 7 Hebrew words of praise will build our faith and give our praise greater effectiveness.
Understanding Praise: 7 Hebrew Words for Praise, Part 1
Without understanding and knowledge we perish or we can be destroyed. Knowing the meaning and purpose of 7 Hebrew words of praise will build our faith and give our praise greater effectiveness.
Study of Isaiah, Part 64
You have heard it said there are two sides to every story. That is true. Isaiah is a book about judgement and mercy. We have to see both sides because both sides are true.
Study of Isaiah, Part 63
It's often said "God is not speaking." But could it be we are not listening? Faith comes by hearing, so if we are not hearing is our faith stagnant and not growing? Let's talk about it.
Study of Isaiah, Part 62
God tells us that heaven is his throne and the earth is His footstool. The universe can not contain God yet he is small enough to live in our hearts.
Study of Isaiah, Part 61
Today our lesson takes us to a study of the Millennium. We don't know a whole lot about this subject but we know that God has everything under control. Let's see if we can get a glimpse of the future.
Study of Isaiah, Part 60
Isaiah 65 gives two seemingly conflicting promises. First he promises that God will always have a remnant. Secondly he promises no mercy for the unrepentant. We have a choice of which promise we will receive.
Study of Isaiah, Part 59
The prophet Isaiah prophesied that Gentiles would be able to be accepted into the family. God did not forsake the Jews; they rejected Him. Therefore it opened the door for those of us who are not Jews to be accepted into the family.
